Cheersday Privacy Policy

El Tostado LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) built Cheersday as a free, ad-supported app with an optional in-app purchase. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (used for authentication and password reset)
Birthday Data
You can add birthday entries that include:
- Names and birth dates of people you want to remember
- Optional email addresses for greeting delivery
- Optional phone numbers
- Optional mailing addresses
- Optional photos
- Relationship categories
- Greeting messages and greeting history
This data is stored securely in Google Firebase and is associated with your account.
Device Contacts
If you choose to import birthdays from your phone contacts, we access your device’s contact list temporarily to display importable entries. We only store the birthday information you explicitly select to import. We do not upload your full contact list to our servers.
Notifications
We use local push notifications to remind you about upcoming birthdays. Notification permissions are requested before any notifications are sent. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
Advertising and Tracking Technologies
Cheersday displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. The AdMob SDK uses advertising identifiers and similar tracking technologies to serve and measure ads. This service may collect:
- Device identifiers (advertising ID / GAID / IDFA)
- General location (country/region level, derived from IP address)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- App usage data (ad interactions, impressions)
We obtain your consent before serving personalized ads where required by applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA). If you do not consent to personalized advertising, or if you limit ad tracking in your device settings, non-personalized ads will be displayed instead.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device’s privacy settings. You may also purchase the ad-free upgrade ($2.99 one-time) to remove all advertisements and disable all ad-related data collection.

In-App Purchases
We offer a one-time in-app purchase to remove advertisements. Purchase transactions are processed by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment information. We verify purchase validity through Google Play’s servers to prevent fraud.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the birthday calendar and reminder functionality
- To authenticate your account and enable data sync across devices
- To send birthday reminder notifications you’ve configured
- To deliver and manage advertisements
- To verify in-app purchases
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Firebase Authentication. Your ad-free purchase status is also stored locally on your device for offline access.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase: For data storage, authentication, and cloud functions
- Google AdMob: Device-level identifiers and usage data for serving advertisements (unless you’ve purchased ad removal or opted out of personalized ads)
- Google Play: For purchase verification
These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing how they use data. We encourage you to review:
Your Rights and Choices
- Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app’s settings
- Disable notifications: Turn off notifications in your device settings at any time
- Opt out of personalized ads: Use your device’s privacy settings to limit ad tracking, or withdraw consent when prompted
- Remove ads entirely: Purchase the ad-free upgrade to stop all ad-related data collection
- Contact import: You can choose not to grant contacts permission; the app functions fully without it
- Data portability/access (EU/EEA users): You may request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Right to erasure (EU/EEA users): You may request deletion of your data by using the in-app account deletion feature or by contacting us
- California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Children’s Privacy
Cheersday is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
